The Charity Commission provides information and guidance to those involved in charities and was established by law as the regulator and registrar for charities in England and Wales. The website provides guidance and information sheets, listing of publications and assistance with completing annual returns. It also has a database of all registered charities in the United Kingdom and it is also possible to search for charities which operate in a particular geographical area such as Wales. All About Giving also provide s database of many charities in England and Wales and general information on the charity scene.
Charity Check Wales aim is to clean up the charity collection scene in Wales in order to prevent fraudulent collections. The Association of Charitable Foundations (ACF) provides information and advice for individuals and organisations seeking funding from UK trusts, facts and figures about trusts and foundations and many useful links. UK fundraising also provides information for charities and non-profit organisations in the United Kingdom.
The Giving Campaign is an independent, national campaign supported by the voluntary sector and the Government. It has been established to increase the amount of money given to UK charities; and, in the long term, to encourage a culture of giving where it is thought natural for everyone able to do so to give money and time to improve the quality of life for others. Children in Need
Children in Need is an annual event organised by the BBC since 1980. Money raised goes to those children experiencing problems or hardships, such as abuse, serious illness and poverty. The website provides details of how to apply for a grant and make a donation and the type of organisations that BBC Children in Need support.
Weston Spririt
Co-founded by Falklands War veteran Simon Weston, Weston Spirit is a national youth charity tackling issues of social exclusion in young people through its innovative personal development programmes and projects. It's mission is 'to deliver dynamic personal and social development programmes for young people whose lifestyles reflect a lack of opportunity and poverty of aspiration.' The site provides details of the charity's work, events, courses and events.

Go Red for Wales 2004 was The Prince's Trust Cymru's invitation for everyone in Wales to have fun and fundraise through the colour Red. It is an annual event, and details of this and last year's Go Red for Wales can be found on the site, which will soon include details of Go Red for Wales 2005.
Cancer Research UK's Race for Life began in 1994 and is now UK's biggest fundraising event. The website provides details of races in Aberystwyth, Cardiff, Pembrey (Carmarthenshire), Swansea and Torfaen.
Tenovus is the cancer charity for Wales. The website lists latest news, research, publications, patient support, fundraising activities and recruitment.
The Charities section on BBC Wales provides a wealth of information on the voluntary sector in Wales. They also offer either a free radio or television feature and would like to hear from any registered charitable organisation wanting to promote its cause on BBC Cymru Wales.
